What are the Trends Around Copper Consumption?

NGSS Phenomena:
The below graph was compiled by the USGS (United States Geographical Survey), to show how much copper was consumed by the top consumers of copper in the world.
NGSS Phenomena: A graph showing copper consumption trends between the United States, India, China and the rest of the world from 1980 to 2012. The united states has consumed nearly 2 million tons every year, while India has consumed more each year, but still less than 1 million tons. China has changed from consuming less than 1 million tons in 1980 to nearly 9 millions tons in 2012. The rest of the world consumed more than 6 millions tons in 1980, nearly 8 millions tons in 1990, over 10 millions tons in 2000, and about 9 million tons in 2010 and 2012.
The below chart below shows the population growth in China, India and the United States from 1960-2015.
NGSS Phenomena: A graph showing population growth lines for China, India and the United States from 1960 to present day. Each country has grown in population, but China and India are growing at a much faster rate than the U.S.
